Ways to Avoid the Recession Blues!
It is all around us. Turn on the television or read to news. Today's report is this recession will be far worse than current predictions. Moreover, if you look at history, recessions mean cutbacks, which are dollars and cents from your income. Recessions can keep us from doing those things in life which keep us positive and create cash flow. 1. The economic stimulus checks are in the mail to US households that filed US Income Tax Returns. The Government is handing out money so you will spend it. This is billions of dollars and a big dud of a plan. Save these monies or invest, pay off debt. 2. With any economic collapse, your first worry is about finances or maybe perhaps you are afraid you might lose your job, or your unemployment will run out. Perhaps this is keeping you from sleeping at night. One method is to look at your finances and figure out exactly where you money is. Create a spreadsheet, list on paper all your debts and expenses. What happens if you or your spouse, both lose your jobs? How will you survive? 3. Now it is time to come up with a contingency plan. It is time to sit down on the computer (or pen and paper) to come up with some realistic solutions of what you can do to safeguard yourself against an economic collapse. 4. Once you have your plan in place on paper, begin putting it into action. If you are going to start saving money by eating lunch or dinner out less often, driving your car less to save on gasoline, riding your bike to the local grocery store instead of driving, paying off your debts, put your plan into action. 5. If you are worried about your primary income, start looking for alternative sources of income. Go through your closets or garage; sell your older items you no longer use on ebay or craigslist then put the proceeds to work for you. If you have a favorite hobby that can create cash flow, explore those options. Sell some of your favorite photographs from your last vacation. Get a 2nd job in a place you enjoy working. Explore all your resources. Learn about work from home opportunities. 6. Once your plan is in place, turn of the gloom and doom news. If you are safeguarding your financial future, you do not need the negativity to make matters worse. Remember you have a plan. Perhaps that plan involves selling your house, getting a 2nd job, or renting a room in your home. Your plan will keep you from worrying. Stick to your plan but if something does not work as expected, tweak it until you achieve your desired goals.
